Itinerary

The Uganda Highlights Safari starts in Entebbe. Here you will be warmly welcomed by your personal driver at Entebbe Airport and taken to your accommodation, where you can acclimatize and rest after the flight.

Karibu Guest House is located in Entebbe, about 10 minutes drive from the International Airport. True to its name - "Karibu" means "welcome" in Kiswahili - you will receive a warm welcome upon arrival at the guest house. The Guest House has an open-plan restaurant with a beautiful view of the gardens, it spoils you with delicious dishes with Mediterranean and African influences. The ingredients are bought fresh at the market or come from their own vegetable garden.

The rooms
Karibu Guest House has 7 rooms, 4 rooms in the main building and 3 in an annex in the garden. Each of the spacious rooms has been furnished in a unique design and features mosquito nets, a desk, free WiFi, an en-suite bathroom and a beautiful view of the surroundings.

Day 2

Bwindi National Park

After breakfast, your safari to the gorillas begins. You will be taken to the airfield and fly in a small plane to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The park is home to the endangered mountain gorillas. In the afternoon you will visit the project - Ride 4 a woman.

"Ride 4 a woman" is a social organization that was founded in 2009 by Ugandan Evelyn Habasa. Today, over 100 women work here and earn their living by producing sustainable and creative products. In addition to visiting the project and gaining insights into the lives of the women who work here, you can buy beautiful, homemade souvenirs here.

You should have a good night's sleep so that you can start your gorilla trekking fit and well rested the following day.

Day 3

Gorilla Trekking

After breakfast you will experience a unique highlight of your trip. You will visit the last mountain gorillas on earth. The chance of encountering the gorillas is very high here, the almost close encounter with the gentle giants ...

... is deeply moving. This morning you will get up very early to prepare for the upcoming gorilla trekking. Please do not forget to take your required personal equipment for tracking the rare mountain gorillas with you. Gorilla trekking is one of the most exciting wildlife experiences in the world. It is impossible to predict how far you will have to walk to find the animals. The walk first goes to the previous night's sleeping place and from there you follow the gorillas' tracks to where they are staying.

As the gorillas do not stick to the network of paths, considerable parts of the route have to be covered off the paths through the steep mountain rainforest. You will be guided by an experienced park ranger. He will tell you interesting facts about the fauna and flora and the way of life of the gorillas. After your return, you can relax in your accommodation and reflect on the impressions of the morning.

Day 4 & 5

Bwindi - Ishasha - Queen Elizabeth (approx. 4-5 hours drive)

Today you will travel to Ishasha, the southern part of the Queen Elizabeth National Park. In Ishasha you will go on a game drive in search of the unique tree-climbing lions. You will then travel to the main part of the ... ... National Park.

You start the day with an exciting morning game drive. Around 100 different species of mammals live in the park, making it one of the most biodiverse in the world. These include lions, hippos, buffalo, leopards, ...

... spotted hyenas, elephants, primates and the elusive giant forest hogs.

The landscape consists of open savannah, rainforest, dense papyrus swamps, crater lakes and the incredibly wide Lake Edward. In the afternoon you take a wonderful boat trip on the Kazinga Channel. You will discover even more species of birds, some of which are seasonal "immigrants" from Europe. Enjoy watching herds of hippos snorting and splashing in the water. Occasionally you will also see elephants coming to the river to drink.

Day 6

Queen Elizabeth - Kibale National Park (approx. 2 hours drive)

Today you will drive to Kibale National Park. The route is lined with numerous tea plantations. You will arrive at your accommodation at midday. Surrounded by the smells and sounds of the rainforest, you can spot primates swinging from tree to tree from the camp...

Day 7

Kibale - Entebbe

Kibale - Entebbe (approx. 6 hours drive)
After breakfast, you will take a guided walk in the Bigodi swamps. Attentive observers will discover giant turacos, hornbills or sunbirds on their walk and will be accompanied by local guides. The particularly high biodiversity of the swamp area includes not only birds, but also many species of monkeys, such as the red colobus, baboon, black-and-white colobus, sooty mangabeys, green monkeys, red-tailed monkeys and L'hoest's monkeys.

In the afternoon, the journey goes back to Entebbe, where your driver takes you to your hotel after exciting days of safari and says goodbye.

Karibu Entebbe (1 night)
The charming Karibu Entebbe in a central location is ideal for exploring Entebbe and the surrounding area or relaxing in the lush, green gardens. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you can even observe over 50 species of birds here.

The Hotel
Next Paradise is located on the north east coast of the Indian Ocean. The private beach of white sand is about 100 m long and is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. The resort is located just off the fishing village of Pwani Mchangani (white beach) north of Kiwengwe and south of Matemwe village. The resort is approximately a 45-minute drive from the airport on a paved road. This charming little hotel in Zanzibar is known for its elegance, excellent cuisine and above all for its intimate and tranquil atmosphere.

The rooms
All 20 rooms are elegantly furnished in Swahili style and very spacious with a size of 35 to 95 square meters. They are furnished with handcrafted furniture made from solid African wood.
