World Heritage Sites like the pre Hispanic town of Uxmal; the Fortified Town of Campeche; the ancient Mayan city, and protected tropical forest of Calakmul; the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve; the pre-Hispanic city of Chichen Itza; as well as beautiful colonial towns; pristine cenotes; awesome haciendas and breathtaking beaches of the Mexican Caribbean.

Day 1 - Welcome

✔ We will meet for dinner to know each other, do the paperwork and get briefing about the tour

Day 2 - Mérida to Uxmal (110 kilometers / 68 miles)

✔ 80% dirt roads, 20% backroads
✔ 4 hours riding

Moto Verde México will ride the Periferico for a few kilometers until reach the two tracks and single-track dirt roads that leads to Uxmal. You are going to ride over former truck railroads. Truck railroads are 19th Century small railroads that use to connect the henequen crops with the haciendas. Through these truck railroads, small trolley trucks powered by mules or horses transport the Henequén from the crops to the haciendas, to begin with, the industrial process. On your way to Uxmal, you are going to stop in a cenote in the middle of the jungle to cool off a little bit.

After riding all morning, you will reach Uxmal at lunchtime. You will do the check-in at the hotel, do your meal and explore the Uxmal archeological site. After that, you can spend some time at the pool, or visit some of the venues around Uxmal.

➢ Day 3

Day 3 - Uxmal to Campeche (140 kilometers / 87 miles)

✔ 50% dirt roads, 50% backroads
✔ 4 hours riding

You are going to leave early in the morning after breakfast. You will ride a backroads from Uxmal to San Simón in the state limit between Yucatan and Campeche.

You will ride dirt roads and backroads to reach the Yalnón Mennonite Community and its corn, beans, barley, wheat, and sorghum fields.

You will ride off-road and visit two beautiful abandoned haciendas and the archaeological site of Kanki before heading to the U.N. World Heritage Fortified Town of Campeche, where we are going to do your check-in at the hotel, and have some time to walk downtown, and have dinner at the malecón.

Day 4 - Campeche to Expuji (320 kilometers / 199 miles)

✔ 80% secondary roads, 30% dirt roads
✔ 8 hours riding

Today will be a long riding day! Backroads and dirt roads all the way! Right after your breakfast, you will ride back roads to visit the astonishing ruins of Edzna. You will do your lunch at Hopelchén and cross Nuevo Progreso and Nuevo Durango, two ultraorthodox Mormon communities where you going to feel like traveling in time on Drs Emmet Brown Delorean to 18th Century rural Germany! In between those communities, you will visit one of the less known archeological sites in the peninsula, the beautiful Dzibilnocac Archeological Site

You will finish your day arriving to Expujil for your check inn and a well deserve dinner!

Day 5 - Chicanná - Calakmul and the Bat Cave (180 kilometers / 112 miles)

Breakfast and visiting the Chicanná Archeological Site in the morning will be your first move. Then you will ride to the U.N. World Heritage Ancient Maya City and Protected Tropical Forest of Calakmul. This will be a nice ride into the deep of the forest. Calakmul is awesome and one of the very few Archeological sites that allowed visitors to walk the pyramids, where you will have a great view and enjoy the sounds of the jungle! Something very unique.

Right after Calakmul, you will do your lunch and visit the bat cave where you will see millions of several species of bats on their way out of the cave! This is a great natural show that can’t be missed.

➢ Day 6

Day 6 - Xpujil - Bacalar

✔ 120 km. 100% highway (2 hours riding).

After breakfast we will ride through federal highway to outstanding Bacalar lagoon, where we will spend the day in the fresh and pristine water of the lagoon. We will rest after that, so we will have the chance to hire a boat tour in the lagoon or kayak in the rapids of the lagoon.

Day 7 Bacalar - Punta Herrero- Mahahual

✔ 257 km. 70% sandy off road 30% highwat. (9 hours riding).

Early in the morning, after breakfast, we will ride 90 Kilometers in the highway to Mahahual, then we will ride for 164 km on a sandy road along the Caribbean Sea into the U.N. World Heritage Sian Ka´an Biosphere Reserve, all the way until we reach Punta Herrero. You will enjoy outstanding views and a very fun and demanding sandy road.

Punta Herrero is a tiny lobster fisherman village in the Sian Ka´an Biosphere Reserve where will have lobster for lunch and enjoy this paradise village.

We will return to spend the afternoon in Mahahual.

➢ Day 8

Day 8 - Mahahual - Punta Allen

#10004; 276 km. 30% dirt & sandy roads 70% highway. (4-5 hours riding).

We will ride from Mahahual to Tulum by highway 221 km, then 55 km dirt and sandy roads into the Sian Ka´an Biosphere Reserve, this time we will approach from the north side along the coast of the Caribbean Sea, riding on a strip between the Caribbean Sea and the mangrove ecosystem and lagoons, where you will enjoy the most beautiful beaches the Mexican Caribbean has to offer. Of course we can stop at many times you wish for a swim, or to take photographs. We will stay for the nigth in Punta Allen.

Day 9 - Punta Allen -Tulum - Valladolid

✔ 155 km. 70% highway. 30% dirt & sandy roads (4 hours riding).

We will ride to Tulum Archeological Site! A beautiful ancient Mayan town in front of the Caribbean sea. Right after that we will depart to Valladolid, a beautiful colonial town where we will swim into its famous cenote, and walk it’s beautiful streets.

Day 10 - Valladolid - Chichen Itzá - Izamal - Homun

✔ 165 km. 80% secondary roads, 20% dirt roads. (3 hours riding).

We will depart early in the morning to Kaua for a tasty traditional breakfast. We will continue to the world famous archeological site of Chichen -Itza. We will ride to the historical city of Izamal for a short visit and lunch at the Kinich restaurant, before heading through backroads and dirt roads to the small village of Homún, located at the edge of the Chicxulub crater in the ring of cenotes, where we will stay for the night at the Hameki Glamping Hotel.

➢ Day 11

Oaxaca

Day 11 - Cenotes - Mérida

✔ 100 km. 70% off road. (4 1/2 hours riding).

Today is our last day of the tour. We will ride into the jungle doing off road trails to swim in several magnificent Cenotes. We will return to Merida at Noon.

Later that night we will have a farewell dinner.
