Luis Barragán House and Studio
.
The former home and studio of Pritzker Prize-winning architect Luis Barragán has been converted into a museum in Mexico's Hidalgo neighborhood. Architecture and design enthusiasts frequently visit the property to survey the artist's ingenious use of color, light, shadow, form and texture. From the street, you'd never guess the personality inside: the bold gray facade blends modestly with the neighboring houses. Walk inside the property, however, and you'll find eye-catching walls in a kaleidoscope of bright colors and fountains and pools.
