DAY 1st & 2nd VICTORIA FALLS Batonka Guest Lodge, Victoria Falls

After arriving at the airport, you will be driven to your accommodation for the next two nights. The Batonka Guest Lodge is located in a quiet residential area. It is surrounded by lush green gardens and offers a peaceful retreat. Here you can recover from the journey and gather strength for your safari adventure.



Activities:

The charming tourist town of Victoria Falls is perfect for exploring on foot. Visit the intoxicating Victoria Falls and take a romantic cruise on the Zambezi.

The Lodge

The Batonka Guest Lodge is located in the quiet residential area of ​​Victoria Falls. It is surrounded by lush green gardens and offers a quiet retreat. The main area contains the dining room, a comfortable seating area and a small souvenir shop.



The restaurant serves breakfast, a small lunch selection and dinner, which is served indoors or on the beautiful terrace overlooking the swimming pool, depending on the guests' wishes and the weather conditions.

Batonka Guest Lodge consists of 22 air-conditioned rooms, each with its own balcony facing the garden. All rooms are comfortably furnished and have a TV and a coffee and tea station.



Half of the rooms have a bathtub in addition to the shower. Some of the rooms have connecting doors and are therefore ideal for families with children.

The lively town centre of Victoria Falls can be reached in 10 minutes on foot. There are various markets in the small town.



The lodge is only about 2.2 km from the entrance to the Victoria Falls Rainforest and the waterfalls, so nothing stands in the way of a visit to the roaring falls. A romantic boat trip on the Upper Zambezi is also possible.

3rd & 4th day

Ghoha Hills Lodge, Savuti/Chobe

Ghoha Hills Lodge, Savuti/Chobe
After breakfast you fly to Ghoha Hills Lodge, where you spend two nights. The location of the environmentally friendly camp high up on the Ghoha Hills gives you a breathtaking view of the endless expanse of the Savuti area in the famous Chobe National Park.



Activities
You can observe the area's wildlife from an open safari vehicle. The game drives either take place in the private Ghoha Hills concession area or lead to the famous Savuti Channel or the area's unique wetlands. This part of the Chobe National Park is home to herds of zebra and buffalo, big cats such as lions and leopards, as well as giraffes, hyenas and many different species of birds. However, Chobe is particularly well known for its abundance of elephants.

The camp

The location of the eco-friendly camp high up on the Ghoha Hills gives guests a breathtaking view of the endless expanse of the Savuti area of ​​the famous Chobe National Park. The entire design of the complex is geared towards this view, which is unique in Botswana. Whether at dinner, while swimming or from the balcony of the chalets, guests can let their gaze wander.



The large, thatched main building is in the shade of mighty trees and houses a lounge, private living and dining areas, a bar, a souvenir shop and a romantic fire pit as well as a rock pool.

The Chalets

The nine canvas chalets and two family units at Ghoha Hills Camp are all en-suite and have private viewing decks with comfortable loungers. From here, guests can enjoy views of the surrounding bush and the waterhole in the valley.



The comfortable feather beds ensure restful nights. At night, you can listen to the sounds of the wild.

Activities

The activities offered at the lodge include bird watching, stargazing and morning and afternoon game drives. The game drives either take place in the private Ghoha Hills concession area or lead to the famous Savuti Channel or the unique swamp areas of the area.



This part of the Chobe National Park is home to herds of zebra and buffalo, big cats such as lions and leopards, as well as giraffes, hyenas and many different species of birds. However, Chobe is particularly well known for its large number of elephants.

Day 5 & 6

Machaba Camp, Khwai

Today you will fly in a small plane to the wildlife-rich Khwai area on the eastern tongue of the Okavango Delta, where you will stay for two nights. You will spend the night in one of the luxury tents at Machaba Camp. From your veranda you can watch the daily parade of animals that come to the river in front of the camp to drink.



Activities
Activities at your camp include mokoro trips, day and night game drives and walking safaris. Combining permanent water sources, vast grasslands and dry forest areas, this incredibly rich habitat supports a variety of mammals and birds.

The Camp
"Machaba" is the local Setswana name for the sycamore fig tree, the tree of life. Machaba Camp. At Machaba Camp, guests can relax in the midst of untouched nature and get to know the flora and fauna of the beautiful Khwai region.



After exciting safari activities, guests can be pampered with spa treatments by well-trained therapists in their own tent and then relax by the pool.


The tents
The camp consists of 8 luxury twin tents and 2 luxury family tents. All 10 luxury tents are built in classic 1950s safari style and are located in a shady gallery forest on the Khwai River with views over the famous Moremi Game Reserve.



From the veranda of the tents you can watch the daily parade of animals that come to the river in front of the camp to drink. The paths between the tents meander between beautiful, large trees along the river.

Activities on offer include mokoro trips, day and night game drives and walking safaris can also be arranged by prior arrangement.

7. & 8

Gomoti Plains Camp, Okavango Delta

​ After breakfast you fly to Gomoti Plains Camp, where you stay for two nights. It is located on the edge of the Gomoti river system of the same name. Your tent overlooks the beautiful surrounding water landscape. Dinner is usually served under the starry sky.



Activities
Game drives offer a classic and traditional delta experience – perfect for adventurous travellers. Boat tours and mokoro excursions explore the delta’s winding waterways with their reed-lined banks.



Accommodation: Gomoti Plains Camp

Authentic safari experience with comfort

The Gomoti Plains Camp is located on the edge of the Gomoti river system of the same name. The tents and the camp's common area are on slightly raised wooden platforms and overlook the beautiful surrounding water landscape.



The camp's experienced chefs come from Botswana and spoil guests with tasty, local cuisine. Dinner is usually served under the starry sky.

The camp consists of a total of 10 luxurious tents, including 2 family tents, all of which have en-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers.



The decor follows a classic safari style, providing an authentic experience, but without foregoing any comfort or luxury.

Game drives start in the morning and late afternoon/early evening and usually last around 3 hours. The abundance of wildlife provides excellent opportunities to see large predators, herds of elephants, buffalo and many other species. On the evening game drives you can also discover nocturnal species.



On guided bush walks (weather permitting) guests can be enchanted by numerous details of nature that remain hidden on game drives. On quiet mokoro trips along the winding waterways guests can explore the surrounding islands.

Safari ends in Maun - onward flight to Cape Town

You fly to Maun and from there on to Cape Town. Once you arrive, a rental car is available to you at the airport. With the charming 52 de Wet Boutique Hotel, you have found the ideal accommodation to relax after an exciting safari or to explore the sights in Cape Town.
