Day 1 Arrival Entebbe
You will receive a warm welcome at the airport upon your arrival in Uganda. The driver will take you to your hotel and arrange for you to be picked up the next day. After your flight from Europe, relax and acclimatize at your hotel in Entebbe - the starting point of the "Uganda's Horizon" safari.

The traditional Boma Guest House is beautifully situated in the countryside in a suburb of Entebbe. It is only a few minutes drive to the international airport. The Boma is an ideal base for exploring the area. The hotel combines the charm of a building constructed in 1940 with modern comfort. It has a bar and a restaurant where guests are served European home-cooked dishes combined with Indian and Mediterranean specialities. Also at your disposal are WiFi, a small library and a swimming pool.

The rooms
The 16 rooms at Boma Guest House are individually decorated in a mix of African and European decor, all with references to colonial architecture. The furnishing of the rooms varies, the majority of the rooms have satellite TV, safe, WiFi, fan, a double bed or two single king-size beds with mosquito nets, an en-suite bathroom and a private veranda.

DAY 2 Murchison National Park
After breakfast your fly-in safari starts. Fly to the Paraa Airstrip in beautiful Murchison Falls National Park. There you will take a drive to the legendary Murchison Falls and walk along the edge of the gorge above the Nile. During your first game drive through the varied landscape, you may be lucky enough to encounter lions and numerous hippos bathing in the Nile.

The Lodge
Murchison River Lodge is located near the banks of the Nile and offers magnificent views of the river and beautiful Murchison Falls National Park. The lodge offers comfortable and cozy mid-range accommodation in safari tents and beautiful thatched houses. The lodge has a well stocked bar and main meals are served in the restaurant. Mobile phones can be solar charged at the bar, although be aware you will have very poor reception.

The accommodations
The beautiful thatched houses are spacious and comfortable and the careful processing of mainly local materials stands out. They are equipped with bed linen, towels, mosquito net and private shower. The room is open plan and a staircase leads to the upper floor with a double bed. A large window offers a direct view of the bushland from the bed. The wooden veranda has a large sofa and a hammock. The furnished safari tents are on the ground floor in the middle of the bush near the Nile. They are each equipped with bed linen, towels, mosquito net, outdoor bush shower and chemical toilet.

Nestled in a papyrus forest on the southern banks of the Nile is Nile Safari Lodge, a comfortable lodge in Uganda's largest national park.
From your balcony you have a wonderful view of the mighty Nile. Trees dotted with nests of weaver birds spread their crowns over the river, Nile crocodiles rest on sandbars and elephants wade through the longest river on earth.

The tents
A total of 10 accommodations are available - five of them are built of wood, the rest are luxury tents. All rooms are en suite and you can enjoy a sundowner or morning coffee on the balcony. The airy conception of the rooms provides cooling on hot days.

Game drive and boat cruise


3rd Game drive and boat cruise
Another game drive starts early in the morning and takes you through beautiful landscapes. In the open savannah we are in search of lion, leopard, hyena, buffalo, elephant, Rothschild's giraffe, Jackson Hartebeest, Palebuck, Waterbuck and Uganda Kobs (antelope). In the afternoon, take a Nile River cruise to the foot of Murchison Falls, where giant Nile crocodiles bask.

Your safari starts today with a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. In the afternoon you take a wonderful boat trip on the Kazinga Channel. Enjoy watching herds of hippos snorting and splashing in the water. We are always particularly happy when we can also watch elephants taking a bath here.

Today begins with a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. In the afternoon, a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel is on the agenda. Watch herds of hippos having a most entertaining swim in the river, with elephants occasionally popping in for refreshment.

Bwindi Nationalpark


6th day Bwindi Nationalpark
Today you will drive to Buhoma. En route you will do a game drive in Ishasha in search of the tree climbing lions. Then the journey continues to Bwindi. After you have settled into your accommodation, you can take a walk through the unique landscape, to the Munyage Waterfall or to a village of the native Batwa pygmies. 7th Day Gorilla trekking
Early in the morning you start to a unique highlight of your journey. On your safari you will visit the last mountain gorillas on earth. The march first goes to the last sleeping place of the gorillas, from there you follow their tracks to their current location. Today you will be guided by an experienced park ranger who can tell you interesting facts about fauna and flora and the way of life of the gorillas. The afternoon at the accommodation is for relaxation.

Entebbe and departure Today you leave the imposing Bwindi National Park and fly to Kampala, the capital of Uganda. If you get there early enough, there will still be time for excursions or a visit to the city. Should your journey end here, you will be transferred to Entebbe Airport for your return flight.
