The drive to Bwindi would take around 9 hours, so we recommend a flying safari instead.
Tip: Depending on your physical condition, you will be divided into different groups for the trekking. so that you may visit the gorilla family, which is not that far from the starting point. Talk to your guide about it.

After your arrival in Uganda, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver at the airport. He will then drive you to your hotel, where you can recover and acclimatize from the flight.

The guest house
The Karibu Guest House is located in Entebbe, approximately 10 minutes' drive from the international airport. True to its name - "Karibu" means "welcome" in Kiswahili - you will be warmly welcomed upon arrival at the guest house. The guest house has an open-plan restaurant with a beautiful view of the gardens, which serves delicious dishes with Mediterranean and African influences. The ingredients are bought fresh from the market or come from our own vegetable garden.

The rooms
The Karibu Guest House has 7 rooms, of which 4 rooms are in the main building and 3 are in an annex building in the garden. Each spacious room has been decorated in a unique design and features mosquito nets, a desk, free WiFi, an en-suite bathroom and beautiful views of the surrounding area.

Bwindi National Park

Entebbe - Bwindi National Park (approx. 1.5 hours drive)
After breakfast, your safari to the gorillas begins. You will be taken to the airfield and fly in a small plane to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The park is home to the endangered mountain gorillas. This fascinating mountain forest... ... also attracts chimpanzees and spectacular birds. There are 23 of the 24 bird species endemic to the Albertine Rift, including the blue-throated broadbill, mountain trogon and other beautiful forest bird species.

After you have settled into your accommodation, you will take a walk to a village of the indigenous Batwa pygmies. You should have a good night's sleep so that you can start your gorilla trekking fit and well rested the following day.

The Camp
Located between Mgahinga and Bwindi National Park, Chameleon Hill Lodge is located on the banks of one of Africa's most beautiful lakes, Lake Mutanda. This extends in front of the lodge and offers a fantastic view with its islands and the Virguna volcanoes in the background. Chameleon Hill Lodge's artistic and colorful design was primarily inspired by its own surroundings. The lodge and each individual chalet have been positioned so that there is a unique and uninterrupted view of the lake and volcanoes from everywhere.

The lodge also has a dining room where freshly prepared dishes are served using local ingredients. The multi-course menus consist of a mix of African and international cuisine.

The Cottages
You will stay in one of the eight comfortable cottages, which have their own veranda with a wonderful view over the national park. The cottages are equipped with comfortable beds, mosquito nets and a bathroom with toilet and hot shower; some cottages also have a bathtub.

High on the Nteko Mountain Ridge in Uganda, in the south-western part of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, lies the beautiful Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge and offers breathtaking views over the Virunga Volcanoes and the spectacular Great Rift Valley. The main building houses the reception, the restaurant, a shop and a bar, which are equipped with a total of 6 fireplaces to create a cozy atmosphere. The meals are prepared from local ingredients of the highest quality and can be enjoyed either by a crackling fire in the restaurant or in your own cottage. In the afternoon, tea is served in the lounge

The Cottages
Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge features 8 spacious cottages built from volcanic rock. The rooms are luxuriously furnished and consist of a living and sleeping area, each with its own fireplace, which provides cozy warmth on the cool evenings. The living area of the Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge invites you to relax with comfortable sofas and armchairs. Craftsmanship from local artists adorn the walls and the en-suite bathroom has a large shower. The cottages have a private terrace with chairs and views of the forest.

Day 3

Gorilla Trekking

After breakfast, you will experience a unique highlight of your trip. You will visit the last mountain gorillas on earth. The chance of encountering the gorillas here is very high, the almost up-close encounter with the gentle giants ...
... is deeply moving. This morning you will get up very early to prepare for the upcoming gorilla trekking. Please do not forget to take your required personal equipment for tracking down the rare mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking is one of the most exciting wildlife experiences in the world. It is impossible to predict how far you will have to walk to find the animals. The walk first goes to the previous night's sleeping place and from there you follow the gorillas' tracks to their whereabouts.

As the gorillas do not stick to the network of paths, considerable parts of the route have to be covered off-trail through the steep mountain rainforest. You will be guided by an experienced park ranger. He will tell you interesting facts about the fauna and flora and the way of life of the gorillas. After your return, you can relax in your accommodation and reflect on the impressions of the morning.

4th. day

Entebbe and departure

Today you will leave the beautiful Bwindi National Park and fly from Bwindi to Entebbe. Depending on your arrival time, you can also visit Kampala (optional). The Uganda Museum in Kampala, the Kasubi tombs of three former kings of ...

... Buganda (these were unfortunately destroyed by fire), the Bahai Temple - the only temple in Africa, the Uganda Martyrs' Shrine, beautiful cathedrals, the old mosque of Kampala and the Kabaka Lake are just a few of the sights to look out for on the seven hills of Kampala. In Entebbe you have the opportunity to visit the Botanical Garden, which is known beyond the country's borders and is one of the most species-rich in the world. In the 1930s, exterior shots of the Tarzan films with Johnny Weissmüller were filmed in the city's Botanical Garden. Your driver will then take you to the International Airport in Entebbe for your onward journey.
