Kayaking in Mexico - The best regions and spots

Diverse Kayaking with Habibi - World Travel & Tour

Mexico is perhaps the continent's best kept secret. For athletes and adventurers, for paddlers, offering a cornucopia of epic sights and thrills, as well as easy logistics and a great value, we can tailor-make your vacation. In particular, the town of Tlapacoyan near the Gulf of Mexico is fast becoming a mecca for whitewater kayaking. With multiple 60 foot drops, deep canyons and jungle landscapes, it is without a doubt one of the cheapest but most memorable white water rafting you can do in North America.

If you're planning to do something on the American West Coast like me, you know how exhausting November can be. Yes, the Pacific Northwest can flush due to winter rains. We would be happy to advise you in this regard. Mexico has all climatic zones to offer. We would be happy to put together the ultimate holiday for you, because this country is so diverse, making a healthy combination of sport, culture and so on. Don't ask yourself - why all my friends are sick and why you feel like you can't move from the couch. Don't spend most of the month dreaming about escaping. But if you're short on money to fly abroad and don't have a chance to take longer off work, is that possible? no problem

Local paddler Rafa Ortiz and Spaniard Aniol Serrasolses were the first to bring down the 130-foot Big Banana Falls in 2010. At the time it was the second highest waterfall descent, surpassed only by the 189-foot Palouse Falls in Washington. Big Banana's pool below the falls has to be one of the most beautiful put-ins in the be world, and just downriver there is a healthy gradient.

With its turquoise sea, its crystal-clear lakes and mysterious cenotes, Mexico offers endless possibilities for relaxed locomotion on the water. On extended kayak and canoe trips or on the paddleboard, you can enjoy the quiet seclusion on the water in the midst of unspoilt natural landscapes and inspire body and soul with a sporting challenge. Between the beach and mangrove trees, you can enjoy an impressive view of the paradisiacal coast of the Riviera Maya in the north-east of the Yucatán Peninsula from a paddleboard. Inland, in the central highlands, you can choose to detour into the Valle Bravo region, 100 miles west of Mexico City, which encircles a tranquil, expansive lake that offers excellent stand-up paddling opportunities. In addition to sporting activities on the water, you can explore the regional flair of the picturesque town of Valle Bravo, which received the "Pueblo Mágico" award in 2005, on an exploratory tour in the countryside.
