1st. Day

Kilimanjaro Airport - Arusha

Kilimanjaro Airport - Arusha
After your arrival, you will be expected and warmly welcomed at the airport in Kilimanjaro. You will then be transferred to your hotel where you can recover and acclimatize from the flight.

Kahawa House (1 night)
Opened in 2019, Kahawa House is the addition to Tanganyika Wilderness Camps' portfolio of lodges and camps. Just 4km from Arusha Airport, it is an ideal base before or after your safari.

Day 2

Arusha - Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, your guide will discuss the activities during the safari with you. You will then drive through beautiful landscapes and past traditional African villages to Tarangire National Park. In addition to game drives, you will also go on a walking safari today accompanied by a trained and experienced ranger. You will go to the most remote parts of Tarangire National Park. Your guide will teach you how to recognize and follow different animal paths. Experience the excitement of encountering and tracking animals on foot. Enjoy rare close-ups by being just 15 meters away from zebras, waterbucks, impalas, ostriches and even the giant African elephant.

Herds of elephants scratch for water veins in the dry riverbed during the dry season, while migrating wildebeest, zebras, buffalo, gazelles, cows and eland crowd around the dwindling waterholes. Visitors to Tarangire National Park can also enjoy the giant baobab trees that are spread throughout the park.

Ideal starting point for trips
The Camp
Lake Burunge Tented Camp is an ideal base for game drives in Tarangire, as you can reach the national park in just 20 minutes. In the main building there is a lounge and bar on a wooden viewing deck. This elevated platform is the perfect place to relax and watch the setting sun over Lake Burunge with a sundowner in the evening or simply enjoy the cozy warmth of the fire pit.

The 20 extremely comfortable tents and the 10 lodge rooms are equipped with a king-size or 2 single beds. Mosquito nets and an en suite bathroom are also available. Guests can enjoy excellent views over Lake Burunge from their private terrace.

In addition to game drives in Tarangire National Park, known for its incredibly high wildlife density, the camp's activities include bush sundowners where guests can enjoy outstanding views over the national park and a drink and snacks on an elevated kopje surrounded by wilderness. From Lake Burunge Tented Camp you can also visit a traditional village and learn something about the Mbuwge people and their culture.

Day 3

Tarangire - Nature hike - Ngorongoro

Today you leave Tarangire National Park and drive towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area. With your guide you will drive just outside Karatuu into the nearby forest for a short hike. During your walk through the ... ... untouched forest, you can observe the beauty of the wild nature and the amazing bird life. Your guide will explain the tracks of the animals based on their footprints. You will pass the elephant caves, which unfortunately collapsed during the last rainy season, but still reflect a special place. You will then hike to the Endoro waterfall - a great place to enjoy the view and take unforgettable pictures.

After this sporty morning you will stop for a warm lunch at Gibbs Farm. Enjoy this magical place and wonderful garden.

Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge
Luxurious
Arusha Coffee Lodge is a 5-star lodge with all the amenities the discerning guest expects. It is located in a large coffee plantation that is still in use today. The Arusha Coffee Lodge features a swimming pool, a bar, an á la carte restaurant and a cozy lounge with an open fireplace.

The chalets
The lodge consists of a total of 30 chalets - including 11 suites and 1 honeymoon suite - which are luxuriously furnished. There is a bedroom, living room and a bathroom. The standard chalets have a fireplace in the room, but are not equipped with a television. The suites are equipped with televisions and the fireplace is on the veranda. The spacious bathroom has a bathtub with a view of the outside. The private veranda offers breathtaking views of Mount Meru and the coffee plantation. All chalets are furnished with a fireplace, minibar, safe, tea and coffee making facilities and other comfortable details.

"Coffee Tour"

The Arusha Coffee Lodge offers an informative "coffee tour" where you can learn everything about the fascinating journey of a coffee bean in an interesting way. The tour takes place on the lodge's own plantation and your guide will explain to you how the beans grow and are raised, harvested, dried and roasted to ultimately become part of a variety of different coffee blends.

Day 4 & 5

4th Day

Serengeti National Park

... in Africa and lies between the Ngorongoro Highlands, Lake Victoria and Tanzania's northern border with Kenya. The name Serengeti comes from the Maasai "siriget" and means "endless prairie". The park is around 14,760 km² in size, lies on a high plateau over 2,000 m and enchants with its savannahs and huge herds of game.

The Camp
The Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp is located in the center of the Serengeti National Park and offers the ideal starting point for wildlife viewing. The mobile tent camp is located in the central Serengeti and is therefore ideally located to visit the places on the large plains where most animals are found at any time of the year. In the middle of the camp is the communal tent with a cozy dining area. The campfire every evening invites you to end the day after an exciting day with up-close nature experiences.

Day 6

Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater

Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater After breakfast, you will drive to the Ngorongoro Crater with a picnic in your luggage. You will go on an extensive game drive there. The crater was formed by the collapse of a volcano comparable in height to Kilimanjaro...

... Today, the crater is around 600 m deep and is home to around 20,000 large wild animals. Since the water holes in the crater never dry out, most of the animals stay there for their entire lives. With a little luck, during your game drive you will see hippos, lions and elephants, among others, as well as some of the last black rhinos in Tanzania. After exciting hours at the bottom of the Ngorongoro Crater, you will climb back up the crater rim in your Landcruiser and then drive on to your accommodation.

The rooms The chalet-like rooms with their own terrace or balcony are located on the ground floor. All rooms, which are equipped with double or single beds, offer guests comfort and enough space to enjoy themselves. The rooms also have a bathroom with a shower. The family room consists of two rooms with a connecting door between the two rooms, so that families with children can also enjoy their vacation in Tanzania

Travelers can enjoy home-made cuisine with some products from the hotel's own garden in the Tloma Lodge restaurant. In the summer months, the large terrace with a view of the foothills of the Ngorongo Crater is of course also a great location for an outdoor meal. After an exciting safari, you can relax by the heated pool with a view of the foothills of the crater. And the gardens with their many flowers and bushes are always ideal for a long walk or a guided hike.

Day 7

Ngorongoro Farm Walk - Kilimanjaro

After breakfast, you will visit the farm with an experienced guide and learn all about the vegetable garden and life and work on the farm. Then you will drive back to Kilimanjaro.
