Day 2 - 3

MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK (approx. 6 hours drive)


Entebbe - Murchison Falls (approx. 6 hours drive) After breakfast, your unique tour begins. You drive through Kampala - the capital of the country - to the northwest of Uganda to the legendary Murchison Falls National Park. On the way, you visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where the rare ... ... white rhinos, which had already been completely eradicated in Uganda, are being resettled. There, you go on a guided hike to observe the rhinos up close. After lunch, the journey continues and in the afternoon you reach Uganda's largest national park.

Murchison Falls National Park
In the early morning hours, you will climb into the open safari vehicle for an exciting game drive. The journey will take you through beautiful landscapes. Our route will take you through the savannah, fan palm forest and grassland down to the ...

... Lake Albert, from where the Nile flows north. In the open African savannah, you will be on the lookout for lions, leopards, hyenas, buffalo, elephants, Rothschild giraffes, Jackson's hartebeest, bleakbuck, waterbuck and Uganda kobs (antelopes). Enjoy spotting various bird species, such as secretary bird, black-breasted snake eagle, predatory and silver eagle, scarlet bee-eater, swallow-tailed bee-eater and many more.

In the afternoon, you will take a boat trip on the Nile to Murchison Falls, from which the national park takes its name. Marvel at the spectacular waterfall. The Nile presses through a 7-meter-wide gap and then rushes 43 meters down. At the bottom of the falls, huge Nile crocodiles sun themselves. If you wish, you can leave the boat near the waterfall and hike to the edge of the waterfall. Once you reach the top, you can walk along the edge of the gorge. Then you drive back to your lodge.

Murchison - Kibale National Park (approx. 8 hours drive)

Today you will travel to Kibale National Park via Fort Portal. The route is lined with numerous tea plantations. You will arrive at your accommodation in the afternoon. Surrounded by the smells and sounds of the rainforest, you can spot primates from the camp...

You start the day with an exciting morning game drive. Around 100 different species of mammals live in the park, making it one of the most biodiverse in the world. These include lions, hippos, buffalo, leopards, ...

... spotted hyenas, elephants, primates and the elusive giant forest hogs.

The landscape consists of open savannah, rainforest, dense papyrus swamps, crater lakes and the incredibly wide Lake Edward. In the afternoon you take a wonderful boat trip on the Kazinga Channel. You will discover even more species of birds, some of which are seasonal "immigrants" from Europe. Enjoy watching herds of hippos snorting and splashing in the water. Occasionally you will also see elephants coming to the river to drink.

Gorilla Trekking

... moving. This morning you will get up very early to prepare for the upcoming gorilla trekking. Please do not forget to take your required personal equipment for tracking down the rare mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking is one of the most exciting wildlife experiences in the world. The hike first goes to the previous night's sleeping place and from there you follow the gorillas' tracks to their location. Since the gorillas do not stick to the network of paths, considerable parts of the route have to be covered off the beaten track through the steep mountain rainforest. You will be guided by an experienced park ranger. He will tell you interesting facts about the fauna and flora and the way of life of the gorillas. In the afternoon you can relax in your accommodation and reflect on the impressions of the morning.

Bwindi National Park - Lake Mburo National Park

Lake Mburo During your stay you will go on exciting game drives and optionally take a boat trip on Lake Mburo. Lake Mburo has a special status among Uganda's national parks, as some animals live here in considerable populations. Relax during your lunch break in the lodge with a cup of tea or a cold drink and let your gaze wander over the vast landscape.

The eco-friendly, family-run Rwakobo Rock Lodge is located in a picturesque setting on the edge of Lake Mburo National Park. From the main restaurant you have a fantastic view of a spectacular rock face that borders the park and a nearby waterhole, which attracts many animals every day. The restaurant serves delicious home-made food, a combination of Ugandan and Western cuisine. The lodge tries to purchase as many ingredients as possible from local traders in order to support its neighbors and also to have as little impact on the environment as possible by traveling long distances to import food.

Day 10

Mburo National Park - Entebbe

(approx. 6 hours drive)


Mburo National Park - Entebbe (approx. 6 hours drive) Before breakfast, you will go on a guided foot safari. You will experience the wildlife from a completely different perspective. Afterwards, you will enjoy a tasty breakfast in your accommodation. On the way to Entebbe, you will pass the equator. Here you can take a break with a relaxed picnic and stroll through a colorful market where numerous traders offer typical Ugandan handicrafts and souvenirs. In the evening, you will reach Entebbe and will be taken to the airport after an exciting safari. You will leave Uganda with unforgettable impressions and perhaps return at some point.
